(LJC) The La Jolla in Jewish History Collection is comprised of materials relating to the community of La Jolla, California. Box 1 includes materials regarding housing discrimination; an organization called the Jewish Community of La Jolla, started in 1964; the cross on Mt. Soledad and Jews and the institutions of higher learning located in La Jolla. Materials date from 1967 to 2014. Box 2 contains a copy of a large scrapbook about the first congregation in La Jolla, established in 1970, B'nai Aron. The scrapbook was compiled by Anita Idell and Rabbi Maurice Idell who was the congregation's rabbi. |
