Description (EDN) - Ed Naiman Collection. Items from the collection of his Father-in-law, Joseph Feldman regarding Israel's 10th Anniversary and Weinberger Lodge. Contribution of list of Presidents of the Cottage of Israel went into Morris Showel Collection.

Small collection of personal papers of Joseph Feldman, donated by his son-in-law, Ed Naiman, which contain items pertaining to Israel's 10th Anniversary Celebration in 1958 by the American Committee for Israel's Tenth Anniversary Celebration, San Diego Division and various items pertaining to the B'nai B'rith Henry Weinberger Lodge.

The contents of the collection consist of B'nai B'rith Weinberger Lodge newsletters, of which Mr. Feldman was the editor, from the late 1950's & early 1960's, membership directories from the 1960's-1980's and letters and photographs from the Israel's 10th Anniversary, celebrated in Balboa Park in 1958. Mr. Feldman was the chairman of this event.

The materials in this collection were donated to the Jewish Historical Society of San Diego by Ed Naiman in 2001. The papers were collected by his late father-in-law, attorney, Joseph I. Feldman, regarding his involvement in the B'nai B'rith Weinberger Lodge.

The Independent Order of B'nai B'rith, founded in 1843, is the oldest continually operating Jewish service organization in the world, with lodges and chapters worldwide. The first San Diego lodge, the Lasker Lodge #370 was founded in 1887. From that original lodge came the Weinberger Lodge and the Breitbard Lodge, as well as several others. These two lodges later merged and formed the Weinberger Breitbard Lodge.
